What should a moving budget include?
The deposit is only one part of the cash needed to buy. Depending on the transaction, you may also pay property tax, conveyancing and searches, a survey, lender or broker fees, removals, storage and insurance. Repairs, furniture and overlapping bills often arrive soon after completion.
Use quotations where possible
The starting values are illustrations, not market averages. Replace them with written quotations and property-specific tax calculations. Keep a contingency for changes, additional legal work and practical surprises rather than budgeting to the last pound.
What this planner excludes
It does not calculate sale-side estate-agent fees, mortgage redemption charges, temporary accommodation, ongoing ownership costs or tax automatically. Those belong in linked specialist calculators so each assumption stays visible.
Once the budget is visible, use the moving-day checklist to organise the practical timeline.
